Wolf Parade @ NYU
Wolf Parade played their final show of their tour last night at NYU's Kimmel Auditorium. It was also their third and final New York City show. I felt a little weird going to this show since I don't go to NYU and I graduated from college a number of years ago. I put those feeling aside and decide that it was worth going to because I had really enjoyed their performance at CMJ. I had a ticket to Monday's show at the Bowery Ballroom but missed it because I went to see Cream at Madison Square Garden. I am sure that last night's show was not Wolf Parade's best, but it was still fun. They played a few new songs as well as all of my favorites including "You are a Runner and I am my Father's son", "Dear Sons and Daughters of Hungry Ghost", "It's a curse" and "Disco Sheets". As I said last nights show wasn't great but I really love the album and it was great to hear a few new songs. The band just seemed really tired and even though they appeared to be having fun I think they would have preferred not to have played the show. However they did treat the audience to a extra long encore, which include a "really old song that had never been recorded" and cover of Paul Simon's "Graceland". Last nights show definitely only get two socks off. The show was fun but it just didn't seem to be their best performance
