Akron/Family @ Tonic
Last night the Akron/Family played two set in honor of their new cd. The cd is a colaboration with Micheal Gira. Akron/Family plays on the entire album but on part of the album they play as "act" as the Agels of Light. The Cd is amazing and is definetly worth checking out.
The show was great. Akron/Family seems to get better and better each time I see them. The Akron/Family continues to expand how they play their blend of rock, roots, folk and electronic noise. The band left the stage twice to play music in the audience. One of the elements that really draws me to the Akron/Family is their ability to switch from a very hushed sound to a very loud and full sound. This translates great in their live performance. The members of the band switch instruments to create different textures for the music. The Akron Family plays the Knitting Factory on Janurary 14, 2005.
