GANG OF FOUR @ IRVING PLAZA
During the late 1970s and early 1980s Gang of Four was one of a few bands that lead the post punk movement playing a new punk funk sound. Gang of Four played Irving Plaza tonight to a sold out crowd. Radio 4 warmed up the crowd with their imitation of Gang of Four. It was during the break between the two bands that this evening began to get kind of weird. Two different members of the crowd tried to pick a fight with me. I am unsure were this animosity towards me came from but as soon as the Gang of Four came on all worries about the two jerks were forgotten. The band played through most of their "hits" as the crowd danced their asses off. Andy Gill demostrated why his guitar style has been imotated by count less other bands. While lead singer Jon King stalks the stage like a man possesed. After the two encores the band said good bye to New York after three strong performances.
